The Wii gets a bit of a kicking here on Reaper Gaming from time to time, well, to be honest it’s normally me giving Nintendo’s system a shoeing at any given opportunity, but lately, although somewhat quietly the Wii has seen some very strong RPG releases such as the superb Xenoblade Chronicle. Mistwalker and AQ Interactive are releasing The Last Story next year, a Japanese style Role Playing Game that will have fans of the genre drooling with anticipation and with good reason. At the head of Mistwalker sits living legend Hironobu Sakaguchi, he of Final Fantasy fame, who according to Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata is seeking “a new form of RPG by choosing the universal theme of human emotion”.
This is the first trailer to appear for European gamers with a promise of more to follow. Unfortunately for US players there is no plan to release The Last Story in their territory, which was a similar fate for the previously mentioned Xenoblade Chronicles.
The Last Story will arrive in Europe in 2012 and is already available in Japan.
