Welcome – The Wii U.

The Wii U contains a custom 45nm chip, with embedded DRAM that “is capable of feeding the multi-core processor large chunks of data to make for a smooth entertainment experience”, according to IBM. It’s based on the same technology used in the Watson supercomputer. AMD have spilled the beans that they are producing the GPU for the new console. Specs: High definition display, up to 1080p resolution via HDMI output 6.2″ touchscreen on new controller, running in non-HD resolution Internal flash-based media storage (rumoured to be 8GB), upgradeable via USB memory (SD cards rumoured). Quick Preview roundup of E3… so far.

Overall E3 has been… OK. Nothing too shocking or surprising, just new details on much of what we knew was coming already with few exceptions. Doesn’t change the fact that we love whats on the way and enjoy the limited but nice new bits of info. Wii U controller – The iPad for the Wii U?!

First off, were not Nintendo experts here at Reaper Gaming – Haven’t really given a toss about them since the death of the N64. Tried to love it again but they just made it too difficult to do so… OK, I bought a Wii when it came out, even bought extra controllers… played it once. That said, this Wii U controller does look like a nice bit of kit, kinda like an iPad for your new Wii U. I bet Steve jobs will be pissed! Will it get me to buy a Wii U? Nope.  I can see however how
