On 1st of May, Valve has released a new patch for Portal. As we all know Valve never used a common language that normal users could understand. The yesterday patch notes go like this :
“Changed radio transmission frequency to comply with federal and state spectrum management regulations.”
Well, this doesn’t make any sense for any gamers and they might even bump their heads to the wall. Let me explain it to you in a couple of simple words. What that means is there is a new achievement called “Transmission Received.”
At first you might think that getting this achievement is handy-dandy but you are wrong. What you need to do is to carry a radio with you through the game and pick up 26 broadcasts at key locations. The broadcasts seem to have more information than thought at first. Some gamers are trying to decipher those transmissions.

Square Enix have been keeping Final Fantasy XIV pretty much a secret since the Tokyo Game Show. Not much is known about the next title in the Final Fantasy Saga, just few occasional updates game play and jobs system, but things are about to change regardless of what Square Enix might want.
On the 28th February, at the annual VanaFest in Tokyo, the company said that starting today they will start contacting a few lucky players to take part in the alpha and beta testing for Final Fantasy XIV, also all the participants to the VanaFest received invites.
They did not say when the testing will begin but they will launch on the 11th of March a beta tester website that can only be viewed by the testers. And of course the Alpha testing will take place before the beta, and the length of it will be determined by the amount of feedback that they will receive from the players.
So we should have more details about the game soon, so stay in touch.

Valve’s Steam platform has grown over the years reaching almost 25 million users, 1000+ games, 12 billion player minutes per month, and 75 billion Steam client minutes per month. On the 25th of February they opened the BETA for their new UI (User Interface) for anyone who wants to test it out and give feedback. There are many changes on the visuals, and the new so called Game Library from were you can keep track of the games your friends play, or invite them to play a game with you. On the store homepage there is a new listing of what your friends have bought or played lately. Now you can keep track of the achievements you earn in games like Team Fortress 2 and many more.
Valve has dropped the IE (Internet Explorer) rendering engine for the store browsing in favor of a Open SourceĀ WebKit. All we can say now is that we’re waiting for the final release of the UI (especially me, ’cause I have a Steam Account with the most played games, and all I can say that it looks AWSOME). Hope you Steam Users will enjoy it as much as I do.
